Master artist Hsiao Chin (b.1935) is celebrated as the pioneer of modern abstract art in the 20th Century, and is widely recognized in both Eastern and Western art scenes. He was one of the leading members of the avant-garde Ton-Fan Art Group (Eastern Painting Society) in Taiwan, which was acclaimed as the first abstract art movement in China. Starting in 1960s, Hsiao founded several important modern art movements in Europe, including the Punto Movement (1961) to bring together numerous Eastern and Western abstract artists. Hsiao Chin's artworks have been exhibited and collected by important institutes world-wide including New York MoMA and Metropolitan Museum, National Art Museum of China, Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona, and National Taiwan Museum of Art.

Hsiao Chin's most recent bookA Historical Dialogue with Artrecords interviews with the artist introducing his art experience and ideas. It also features 17 letters from the Master for young art professionals, sharing his encouragements and thoughts.
