節目簡介
王童是華語電影史上最重要的電影工作者之一，為八十年代台灣新電影的先驅。電影以沉穩深厚的文化背景與溫度，描繪台灣滄桑動盪的歷史。他的手法精雕細琢，作品別具意境，樸實殷切地刻畫大時代裏平常人物於顛沛流離、苦中作樂的生存況味。故事除了受普羅大衆歡迎，亦屢獲好評。
藝術家簡介
王童
王童從影至今超過五十年，劇情長片共十五部。作品曾入選多個國際影展，並獲台灣國家文藝獎和金馬獎多項殊榮，2019年更榮獲金馬獎終身成就獎，並擔任評審主席。合作過的影人包括胡金銓、吳念真、蔡明亮、李屏賓及今村昌平等。

《風中家族》為王童籌備了五年的愛情史詩鉅作，場景壯觀，佈置炫目。美術出身的王童，親手描繪場景圖，打造了四、五十年代的房子，與牯嶺街實景。

About the programme
Wang Toon is one of the pioneers of the New Taiwanese Cinema movement and a pivotal figure in pan-Chinese cinema. His work witnesses the tumultuous history of Taiwan, bringing great cultural depth and richness. Wang honours the integrity and humanity of ordinary people who strive in extraordinarily difficult times, surviving extreme turmoil and pains, while keeping hope and purpose alive. His works have won both popular appeal and critical acclaim.
About the artist
Wang Toon
Wang Toon’s film career has spanned over 50 years with 15 fiction features under his helm. His works appeared in numerous international film festivals and won multiple Golden Horse Awards. He was honoured by the National Awards for Arts from the National Culture and Arts Foundation of Taiwan. In 2019, he was the winner a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Golden Horse Film Awards, and served as the head of its jury. His collaborators include King Hu, Wu Nien-jen, Tsai Ming-liang, Mark Lee Ping-bing, and Imamura Shohei amongst others.

Wang Toon took five years to prepare for this historical romance epic with breathtaking scenes and spectacular mise-en-scène. Trained in art direction and faithful to his period set, Wang drew the storyboard by himself. Sets of houses from the 1940s and 1950s and Guling Street were rebuilt for this film.
