簡介:
這個現代《梁祝》故事一反二十一世紀常態。在夢中,祝英台希望唸金融,父母卻把她送進藝術學校。現實中,祝英台在藝術學校認識梁山伯,愛情路卻崎嶇不平。林奕華延續原著中祝英台的率性,梁山伯的戇直,以及馬文才的無奈,三人的命運在今日的藝術學校相交,讓觀眾更能了解什麼是愛情、藝術和人生。
演出長約3小時30分鐘,包括中場休息。

沒有比當下更看重華語音樂劇的時候了。音樂劇本來是美國的文化產物,已有接近百年歷史,華語音樂劇的創作基礎和發展方向又是什麼?。《梁祝的繼承者們》自2014年首演後多次巡迴各地公演,好評如潮。導演林奕華更將於公開講座,與創作團隊及特邀嘉賓反思華語音樂劇。


藝術家介紹

非常林奕華

成立於1991年,屬香港藝術發展局三年資助劇團。二十八年來,59部作品皆屬原創,無論是在題材、觀眾群、影響力,均涵蓋大中華不同地區。台前演員、幕後主創皆為一時之選,致力以前瞻的視野開拓華語戲劇的現代性與可能性。

Synopsis:
Premiered in 2014, Art School Musical is a contemporary adaptation of the classic story The Butterfly Lovers that transforms a traditional tale of heartbreak into a story about a search for identity. Featuring 18 original songs, and a cast from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, the plot centres around three young students and their struggle to find meaning in love, art and life.
Approximately 3 hours 30 minutes including intermission.

Introduction:
As a performing arts genre, the musical originated in the United States around 100 years ago. Its popularity has since spread around the world. Today, although Broadway-style musicals remain the dominant format for mainstream audiences, there is also growing interest in alternative forms of musical theatre and Chinese-language musicals. Director Edward Lam, the creative team and invited guests will looks at the creative foundations of Chinese-language musicals in the region and some of the possibilities for future development.

Edward Lam Dance Theatre
Founded in 1991, Edward Lam Dance Theatre (ELDT) is financially supported by HKADC's Eminent Arts Group Scheme. For the past 28 years, it has produced 59 pieces of original works covering various locations in the greater China region in terms of topics, audiences and influence. Working with outstanding performers and creators, ELDT is dedicated to exploring the modernity and possibility of the Chinese-language theatre with forward-looking perspectives.
